Election Experience

Today was the first time that I have ever voted as I am 20 years old. I voted at Needham Elementary School and the experience was very easy to do and did not take that long to complete at all. One of the harder thing to do in voting was the amendments because the wording is very hard to understand at lest for me. I had a cheat sheet that I took to the voting place to help me with everything. The cheat sheet made it a lot easy to fallow everything. The people where very helpfully and made everything run very smoothly. I then went to Starbucks to get my free coffee with my “I voted” sticker on. I am looking forwards to watching the end result on T.V. tonight.

Free Stuff for Voting! How about a Felony?

If you vote in the 2008 election for our 44th president, you are eligible to get free stuff. Starbucks, Ben and Jerry’s, and Krispy Kreme are giving away food if you vote. For Starbucks you get a free coffee if you just say that you voted. For Krispy Kreme you just need to wear an “I voted” sticker for your free donut and for Ben and Jerry’s you just need to show up for your free ice creams. But what about you’re Felony? Take the State of Georgia where the motto is “Wisdom, Justice and Moderation.” If you requiring someone to say they voted in order to receive a free coffee, which is a felony. The law in Georgia states “Any person who gives or receives, or offers to give or receive, or participates in the giving or receiving of money or gifts for the purpose of registering as a voter, voting, or voting for a particular candidate in any primary or election shall be guilty of a felony.” But no worries the company have modified the promotions so that they are legal. So get out and vote for your free stuff.
