Carbon dioxide output is up in 2007

The levels of carbon dioxide are up in 2007. The levels have increased 3 present for 2006 to 2007. This number far exceeds the most extreme out look on carbon dioxide levels that were predicted by Noble prize winning group of international scientists in 2007. Plus the oceans and trees are absorbing carbon dioxide at as slower level then normal. The oceans and trees usually absorb 57 percent of excess carbon dioxide, but now they are only absorbing about 54 percent of excess carbon dioxide. China is the leader in carbon dioxide out put and the United states is in second. If we do not find a solution's soon, by the year 2100 the earth temperature could rise about 4 to 11 degrees Fahrenheit.

Elephant helps with cleanup after Ike

This is really cool. The Elephants at the Houston zoo lend a helping hand in the clean up after Hurricane Ike. The Elephants a the zoo waited out the storm with select zoo keepers that the Elephants had a bond with. When the clean up started, the Elephants would use there trunks to move the big branches to a pile of debris. It was really good exercise for the Elephant. You can see the Elephant, Tucker, lending a trunk.

Lance Armstrong Returns

On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, seven time Tour de France win Lance Armstrong announce that in the 2009 season he will be returning to race road cycling. After a year of retirement he has deiced to come back and race the famous Tour de France and go for his 8th time winning the event. The reason that Lance says that he is returning to the sport of professional road cycling is because he want to raise the awareness of the global cancer burden. Lance will be turning 37 years old in the next month and he believes that it will not be a factor. Lance says “Looking at the Olympics, you have a swimmer like Dara Torres. Even in the 50m event (freestyle), the 41-year-old mother proved you can do it. The woman who won the marathon (Constantina Tomescu-Dita, of Romania) was 38. Older athletes are performing very well. Ask serious sports physiologists and they’ll tell you age is a wives’ tale” The main goal that Lance has in mind with his return to cycling is to spread his message of cancer. With his training Lance is dong a first time thing, her is going to be completely open with the press and show them his training regiment so that this is no possible way to cheat.
